travel-tips ✈️

Updated: Jan 2, 2020

Traveling can be dehydrating, problematic, and stressful on our skins health.

Enjoy some of the tips I've found helped me while flying!

TIP #1

Get the mini sizes of products you love for the plane.

The best way to do this is to shop online at Sephora, because there are so many trial sizes of some great products! Before you head to the checkout section, go to the 'Beauty Offers' tab and check out some of the great promotions you can add. They have so many great products that you simply add to your basket using their code.

Tip #2

Hydration is KEY

If you've ever traveled by air before you know that your skin can feel SUPER dehydrated after a long travel day. When you're up in the air at 30,000+ feet, there is a lack of humidity in cabin air, causing all the moisture in your skin and bodies to be sucked out 🙆🏼‍♀️. It's so important to stay hydrated with you skin routine before your flight, during, and continuing after in your travel.

ALSO be sure you drink lots of water in your flight. Just as this is important on a day-today basis, it's even more important on a flight because of the moisture we aren't retaining through a long travel day 💧

I adore this wash because it balances out my combination skin. It targets both oily and dry patches (which definitely tend to occur when I'm traveling). I always get a deep clean for my skin, making my skin feel squeaky clean without feeling tight afterwards!

As I've spoke about before, anything with hyaluronic acid in it is natural and beneficial for your skin. Adding this into my skincare routine will ensure hydration throughout the flight!

This is easily my go-to mask for all my hydration needs. It is so lightweight on the skin and gives my skin a healthy glow after each use. This product also contains cucumber extract which decreases water loss and helps balance sebum production.

& an AHA or BHA is important! I recommend a glycolic acid as this is something that brightens and exfoliates the skin, ensuring that the unhealthy layers from the airplane are being stripped off.

Tip #3 Ditch Most Face make-up for the day & Let your pores breathe!

Getting rid of makeup while flying makes it easier for you to moisturize, mask and treat your skin in flight! This can be relaxing on a stressful travel day. Makeup also clogs the pores, so allowing your pores to breathe every now and then isn't a bad idea!

Tip #4

Maintain the appearance of your skin how you like it]

my recent travel makeup look 💕

When I fly, I like to allow my skin to breathe but I still want to put my favorite products on to feel put-together 💁🏼‍♀️

I always do my brush through my brows, spot conceal, moisturize the lips, and of COURSE add the GLOW.

My favorite light-coverage brow product is the Benefit Gimme Bow Gel. This has been my tried and true product for years! It sets, gives a tint, and shapes my brows for a natural makeup day!

I also spot conceal under my eyes, and any apparent acne marks. I have been faithful to the Tart Shape-Tape Concealer FOREVER. It's super full coverage so it's sure to hide anything I want to cover (just make sure you get your perfect match especially when spot concealing)

Next to keep my lips hydrated, I use the Glossier mint balm dotcom. It brings a refreshing mint scent for my lips and keeps me hydrated all day. LASTLY for the a glow, I want something light & easy. My current go-to highlight is the Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in "Precious Petals." It gives me the perfect natural-looking & healthy glow (and its only $4.99)!

These makeup tips allow for my pores to breathe, and if I want to do some in-flight skincare it's a lot easier without all the makeup on my face!

Hope this helps ✨

xo, Bailey
